Employee Policy Answers

Problem Statement

Employees ask the same policy questions across Slack, email, and manager channels. People and Legal need those answers to come from current, approved sources, not from old documents or well-meaning guesses. Employees also need answers scoped to their region, role, and employment status.

Proposed Workflow

• Ask a policy question in Slack, using a direct message or an approved help channel.
• The app searches only owner-reviewed policy sources and returns a concise answer with citations.
• If the answer depends on region or role, the app applies the employee’s existing access rules.
• If a policy source is stale or missing, the question is routed to the right People or Legal owner.

Access and Governance

Employee Policy Answers follows the company’s existing identity and access model. Employees only see policies they are entitled to see, every answer links back to its source, and source changes require an owner review before the app uses them.

Acceptance Criteria

• Every answer links to the approved sources it came from.
• Access follows existing roles, people only see policies meant for them.
• Every change to a policy source is logged.
• People and Legal can mark an answer as incorrect and route it back for review.
